THE PARLOUR

This room was sterile feeling. Like a cold outdated doctors office. All white, no warmth, and definitely no personality. Until now. I decided to paint everything black (because obviously) and it completely changed the mood of the space. It instantly felt moody and cozy in the best way. The fireplace got a little extra love with a DIY painted tile makeover that took it from outdated to swoon, and I finally had a place to pull together some of my favorite thrifted and swap meet finds and a little handcrafted love.

The whole goal was to give it some soul. I didn’t want it to feel like a brand new waiting room. I wanted it to feel like something layered, curated, and lived in. A couple of vintage signs (including a very necessary "please leave by 9 one), an old trunk turned coffee table, and a moody floral skull art piece pulled everything together. I even gave my old salon chairs a little fringe-trimmed makeover to help them feel like they belonged in their new surroundings.

It’s definitely not a traditional living room anymore and that’s kind of the point. Between the dark walls, cozy lighting, and texture everywhere, it now feels like the perfect spot to curl up, read, or sip something strong and moody
