THE VAULT HOME GYM

2/24/2026

When we started remodeling this space, I didn’t just want a home gym. I wanted a room that felt like it had a story — like it had always been part of the house. After doing a little digging into the history of our town, I knew I wanted an old bank theme. That’s how The Vault was born.

Moody walls, vintage-inspired typography, and textures that feel like they’ve been there for decades. I wanted it to feel like we uncovered something original behind the drywall — like part of the old Farmers Bank was somehow a part of our home. There’s something about walking downstairs into a space that feels grounded and enclosed that makes it perfect for lifting heavy and focusing in.

While it’s now our home gym, it also doubles as holiday storage (because somehow the bins multiply every single year). I love that it’s both functional and full of personality — strong enough to hold weights and strong enough to hold Christmas.

This project reminded me that even practical spaces deserve personality. A home gym doesn’t have to feel sterile or purely functional. It can reflect your style, your town’s history, and your family’s story. For us, The Vault isn’t just where we lift weights — it’s where history, creativity, and everyday life meet.
